To calculate total project cost, first calculate the total number
of genotypes, then add the appropriate assay setup fee times the
number of markers to the appropriate genotype cost times the number
of genotypes. For example, for a project with 1000 DNA samples
and 100 markers, the total number of genotypes would be 100,000;
the assay fee would be $110 X 100 = $11,000; the genotype cost
would be $0.14 X 100,000 = $14,000; and the total cost $25,000.
